How we write

• Answer first. Every page opens with the direct answer, then the detail.
• Standard, conservative numbers. Ratios, temperatures and timelines follow the ranges published by university extension services and the US EPA. They're given as approximate ranges, because compost is biology, not arithmetic.
• Careful on safety. Anything involving manure, pet waste, meat or diseased plants stays on the cautious side and says so.
• No invented stories. The site is anonymous by choice. There are no personas and no made-up anecdotes: the guidance stands on its own.
• Dated and updated. Each page shows when it was last reviewed.
