How to compost citrus peels
Cut peels into pieces about 1 in (2–3 cm) and mix them through the pile with other scraps and browns. Larger amounts, like a juicing habit's worth, are fine if they're spread out rather than dumped in one spot. The pile's microbes handle the acidity.
If you juice a lot, dry the peels on a tray first; they're lighter to store and still break down well once mixed in.
